Professor Ma is one of the pioneers of urological laparoscopic and robotic surgery in China. He has made significant contributions to the development of retroperitoneal laparoscopy and robotic surgery, and has been dedicated to promoting and popularizing minimally invasive techniques across the country. In recent years, he has pioneered innovations in robotic inferior vena cava (IVC) tumor thrombectomy and complex nephron-sparing surgery.
As a Principal Investigator, he has led numerous key research projects, including the National Key Research and Development Program of China and the National High Technology Research and Development Program (863 Program).
Professor Ma has received several prestigious awards, including the State Science and Technology Progress Award (2006, 2013) and the Science and Technology Award of the Chinese Medical Association (2020)
