Dr Raymond Campbell is a specialist urologist based in Pretoria, the capital of South Africa. He completed both his undergraduate and postgraduate medical training at the University of Pretoria, where he qualified as a specialist urologist in 2007. Since then, he has remained affiliated with the country’s pre-eminent urology facility, where he has built extensive expertise with a particular focus on paediatric and functional urology.
Beyond clinical practice, Dr Campbell has been an innovator in the application of technology to healthcare. In 2015, he founded a health technology company that has gone on to win numerous awards, with a strong emphasis on artificial intelligence and telemedicine as tools to expand access to care. His interests also extend to public health, where he has played an important role in state-sponsored male medical circumcision programmes.
Dr Campbell is the founder of the most successful penile rehabilitation programme in the Eastern Cape, with more than 50 men having benefitted from reconstructive and rehabilitative surgery to date. He has held academic leadership positions as Clinical Head and Associate Professor in the Department of Urology at the University of Pretoria, where he continues to contribute to research, teaching, and service delivery.
