Dr. Harshit Garg is a Senior Consultant uro-oncologist and Robotic Surgeon and leads the Urooncology & Robotic Surgery unit at Max Institute of Cancer Care in Delhi. He is a fellowship trained uro-oncologist and robotic surgeon, trained at All India Institute of Medical Sciences
(AIIMS), Delhi, and the University of Texas Health & Mays (MD Anderson) Cancer Centre, San Antonio, Texas.
Dr Garg completed his medical school at AIIMS, Delhi, and was awarded the Institute Gold Medal for Best Graduate along with the Delhi Medical Association Medal 2012. He also received Dr Atam Prakash Medal for being the best intern in surgical disciplines. Dr. Harshit completed his surgical and urology residency from AIIMS, Delhi, and was awarded Dr Hira Lal Medal for the Best Postgraduate in surgical residency and Dr JR Chawla Medal for best urology resident. He also received the USI-Olympus traveling fellowship and Société Internationale d' Urologie Resident Scholarship 2019’ during his urology residency. Following his residency, he joined the University of Texas Health and Mays (MD Anderson) Cancer Centre, San Antonio, Texas to pursue the Societyof Urologic Oncology (SUO) fellowship. During the fellowship, he also completed certification in translational science. He was awarded the ‘People’s Choice Award’ in the T1-T4 (3min) challenge contest and received the Lois L. Bready Endowed Professionalism and Leadership Award’. He also received the GU-ASCO Merit Scholar Award 2023 and the Mays (MD Anderson) Cancer Centre Affiliate Member Award. After completing his SUO fellowship, he moved back to his home country.
With over 70 publications, Dr Garg has deep interest in research academics. He has been nominated as ‘Section Editor’ for ‘The Journal of Minimal Access Surgery’ and ‘Editorial Committee’ member for ‘The Indian Journal of Urology’. He is also the member of SIU academic sub-committee for education and training of residents.
