Consultant Urological Surgeon

Thomas Chan is a Consultant Urologist with a special interest in uro-oncology and minimally invasive surgery at Sengkang General Hosptial, SingHealth, in Singapore. He was initally trained as a pharmacist with a Masters' degree in Immunology from King's College London, University of London, United Kingdom. He subsequently attained his basic medical degree from the University College Dublin, National University of Ireland, Republic of Ireland. He then started his medical training in Singapore. In the midst of his urology residency training, he undertook a DPhil in Surgcial Sciences / Immunology at the Green Templeton College, University of Oxford. Aside his clincial position at SingHealth, he is also appointed as Clinical Assistant Professor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore and Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School, as well as Adjunct Senior Lecturer at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, Nayang Technological University, Singapore. He is a keen educator in both undergraduate and postgraduate surgical training including being a Clinical Mentor for medical students and Course Director/ Organising Chairman of Surgical Workshops and Uro-oncology Preceptorship. Translational research in prostate cancer using in vivo models is his current research focus.
