Experienced robotic surgeon & academic urologist with a strong professional and academic
background including board certification from the American Board of Urology and Royal College
of physicians and Surgeons of Canada in addition to obtaining USA subspecialty fellowship
training in: 1- Robotic Surgery and advanced Laparoscopy. 2- Minimally Invasive Urologic
Oncology. 3- Endourology.
Currently serving as the president of the Arab urological association and a
professor at King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. He is the immediate past president of the Saudi Urological Association.
Urology residency training was completed at McGill University in Canada then fellowship
training was obtained from USC Institute of Urology, University of
Southern California in Los Angeles .
Played an active role with the USC team in developing innovative techniques in Robotic
Urologic surgery & participated in demonstrating many live surgery cases around the World.
Has been selected to be an adjunct clinical assistant professor of Urology at USC Institute of
Urology.
Assisted in developing and maturing robotic surgery programs in different hospitals in Saudi
Arabia. Have performed many complex robotic surgeries that were done for the 1st time in
Saudi Arabia & the Middle East.
Considered one of the highest volume robotic surgeons in the Middle East.
Received several acclaimed awards including scholarship awards, outstanding resident teacher
awards as well as several awards for scientific presentations & surgical videos at scientific
meetings.
Presented many abstracts at scientific meetings and has authored several peer-reviewed
articles, reviews, & chapters.
A reviewer for several urology journals & most recently joined the Journal of Urology - the official
journal of the American Urological Association- as an editorial board member.
Most recently, played a major role in introducing robotic surgery for the 1st time in a private
Hospital in Saudi Arabia. Namely, Doctor Soliman Fakeeh Hospital in Jeddah.
