Dr. Vijayan Manogran is an undergraduate from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) with an MD. He subsequently completed his Masters in Surgery from the prestigious University Malaya (UM). He then furthered his training and took up Urology and obtained his Malaysian Board of Urology (MBU) and Fellowship from The Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow (FRCS Urology) in 2015. He subsequently completed a fellowship at the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne in General and Uro-Oncology in 2016. He then went on to further subspecialise in Renal Transplantation completing his training in both Malaysia and Turkiye at Acibadem International Hospital in Istanbul in 2018. His main area of interest is in Renal Transplantation and Vascular access surgeries as well as Endourology procedures and Pelvic Urology-Oncology. He has done more than 600 kidney transplants since 2018 and is actively training and educating younger doctors on kidney transplantation. He is a strong advocate for patient access to kidney transplant in Malaysia and sits on many panels advising the Ministry of Health on transplant services in the country. He is the current Secretary of the Malaysian Urological Association (MUA) as well as a committee member for the Malaysian Society of Transplantation (MST). He is a regular speaker at local and regional conferences amongst Urologists, Nephrologists, Transplant Professionals and Vascular Surgeons.
