I am a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Surgery and teach Principles of Surgery and Surgical Pathology relevant to Ghana and the West African sub-region to MBChB 1 and MBChB 3 students. I also teach Principles and Practice of Urology, Surgical Pathology and Operative Urology including Andrology, Pediatric Urology, Trauma and Reconstructive Urology, Urologic Oncology, Endoscopic Urology and General Urology to post-graduate Membership and Fellowship residents of the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons and the West African College of Surgeons – 2012 to date
I am a distinguished scholar with multiple awards including the overall best graduating student in Surgery at the undergraduate level and best graduating student in Urology at the West African College of Surgeons in 2013 and two best poster awards internationally at the Society of International Urologists’ Congresses in Glasgow, 2014 and Lisbon 2017.
Professionally, my interests include Reconstructive Urology and Urologic Oncology.
I hold several positions including: Current President of the Ghana Association of Urological Surgeons (GAUS), National Deputy Delegate of Society of International Urologists and the National Co-ordinator for International Volunteers of Urology (IVU-MED, USA).
I was also the the head of the Urology unit of the Directorate of Surgery of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital from August 2020 to August 2024, where I had the direct responsibility of training the next generation of Urologists. During my tenure, an unprecedented number of ten (10) Fellowship Residents from both the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons and the West African College of Surgeons were enrolled into the Fellowship program.
