Morgan Rouprêt is 49-year-old and is currently full Professor (academic position) at APHP Sorbonne University, in the Academic Urology Department of the Pitié-Salpétrière Hospital, in Paris, France. In his daily practice, he is particularly involved in the field of onco-urology and practices mini-invasive surgery and robot-assisted laparoscopic procedures. In 2005, he received the gold medal AP-HP Prize and the Le Dentu-Renon Prize bestowed by the French National Academy of Surgery. In 2006, Rouprêt collected the Prize Auquier and the “Young talent” award in 2013. In 2011, he won the Hans-Marberger award from the EAU scientific office in Vienna for the best publication in a European Journal on minimally invasive surgery. In 2015 he was the recipient of the Crystal Matula Award which is the most prestigious prize granted to a young promising European urological academician. In 2011, he also proposed renewed European Guidelines on upper urinary tract tumours. From 2007, he has been working in the national group of experts involved in the French national guidelines (AFU). From 2019, he has been appointed as chairman of the European Section of Onco-Urology (ESOU) of the EAU. Rouprêt is also a committed researcher and writer with a string of publications (i.e., 1 104 so far) in international, peer-reviewed journals. He focuses and writes on urological cancers particularly upper urinary tract tumours and prostate cancer. From 2023, he became the Editor-in-Chief of the scientific journal European Urology Oncology (Elsevier, Impact Factor 9.3). Besides, he owns a PhD in the field of onco-urology and genetic markers. In addition, Rouprêt is the main author or co-author of several books for medical students dedicated to education in the field of urology.
Professor Rouprêt has been appointed as Knight of the Legion of Honor in France by the French President (14th of July 2025).
