Dr. Peyton is an Associate Professor in the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Department of Urology at the Heersink School of Medicine. He completed medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina, urology residency at Wake Forest University and a Society of Urologic Oncology fellowship at Moffitt Cancer Center. Dr. Peyton is a fellowship-trained surgeon specializing in the management of complex urologic cancers with an interest quality of life, therapeutic, and outcomes research related to urologic cancer. Dr. Peyton has focused on kidney, bladder and testis cancer research. His clinical practice focuses on the diagnosis, management and treatment of complex bladder, kidney and testicular cancers. He specializes in both minimally invasive and open surgical techniques and applies a multidisciplinary, personalized approach to the management of urologic cancers. Currently Dr. Peyton has a robust surgical practice with frequent advanced, complex renal mass patients and advanced testicular cancer patients. His research interests include health related quality of life related to bladder cancer and cystectomy, non-muscle invsive bladder cancer, optimal multidisciplinary therapy to urologic malignancies, quality reporting and outcomes in urologic oncology.
