Dr. Hyung Joon Kim is a distinguished urologist in South Korea, specializing in endourology, robotic surgery, and urological oncology. He earned both his M.D. and Ph.D. from Yonsei University College of Medicine in Seoul, South Korea. Following his residency in the Department of Urology at Severance Hospital, he completed a clinical fellowship in urological oncology at Samsung Medical Center.
Currently, Dr. Kim serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Seoul National University Bundang Hospital, where he focuses on treating urinary stone disease and advancing robotic surgical techniques. His research emphasizes translational endourology, aiming to develop safer and more effective endoscopic treatments for urolithiasis.
Dr. Kim is actively engaged in various professional societies. He serves on the boards of the Korean Society of Endourology and Robotics (KSER), the Korean Urological Oncology Society (KUOS), and the Korean Prostate Society (KPS). He is also a founding member of the Asian Urological Society for Endoluminal and Technology (AUSET) and co-directs its flagship academic event, the Endoluminal Technology Symposium (ETS). Additionally, he serves as a faculty member of the Asian Urological Surgery Training and Education Group (AUSTEG).
Throughout his career, Dr. Kim has authored numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals, making significant contributions to the fields of urolithiasis management, robotic surgery, and minimally invasive urological procedures.
