Associate Professor of Urology
Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece
I graduated from the Medical School of AUTh in 1996 and completed my residency training in Urology in 2005, the same year I was awarded with the title of Fellow of the European Board of Urology (FEBU).
My key achievements include securing two scholarships granted from international societies, in more detail:
In 2006 I trained for 3 months at the Academic Medical Center in Amsterdam, the Netherlands through a scholarship (clinical fellowship) of the European Association of Urology (EAU).
I trained in Endourology for 12 months (2008-2009) at the University of California Irvine (UCI) USA through a scholarship from the Endourological Society clinical research fellowship.
In 2010 I completed my PhD thesis at the University of Ioannina with a grade of "Excellent". In 2020 I completed a master's degree (MSc) in clinical research methodology at AUTh.
I am also very proud to have served as Consultant Urological Surgeon in the British NHS. More specifically from 2016 to 2018 I held the substantive position of Consultant Urologist at the Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust in Manchester, UK.
In 2018, I was elected Assistant Professor of Urology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. In 2023 I was elected as Associate Professor of Urology.
I am a Associate Board member of the EAU Section of Oncological Urology (ESOU) which I consider another key achievement.
Since 2022 I lead the Resident’s SubCommittee of the Academy Education Council of the Société Internationale D'Urologie (SIU).
I have authored 114 articles in journals indexed in PubMed as well as 5 book chapters books with a total of more than 2000 bibliographic citations with an h-index of 27.
My clinical and research interests focus on prostate diseases, minimally invasive therapies for BPH and prostate and bladder cancer.
