Mr Francis X Keeley, Jr, MD FRCS (Urology), Consultant Urologist, Bristol Urological Institute
Born and raised in New Jersey, Frank graduated from Duke University and then from medical school at Washington University in St. Louis. He trained in general surgery and urology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. He completed a 2-year endourology fellowship in Edinburgh before taking up the post of Consultant Urologist at the Bristol Urological Institute in 1998. He was awarded a fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2001.
He has clinical and research interests in the minimally invasive treatment of kidney cancer, kidney stones, upper tract TCC, and ureteropelvic junction obstruction. He has acted as a mentor in endourology and laparoscopic/robotic surgery for over 30 consultant urologists in the UK and abroad.
He has served as Honorary Secretary of the British Association of Urological Surgeons as well as the Honorary Treasurer of the BJU International journal company and a member of the Interventional Procedures Advisory Committee of the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE). He serves as chair of the EuRECA Registry for cryoablation.
