Dr. Sakineh Hajebrahimi earned her medical degree in 1995 and
completed her urology residency in 1999. She pursued a
fellowship in Female Urology at Jewish General Hospital
in Montreal, Canada, and furthered her training with a
visit to the Urology Department at Sheffield University in
2009. A pioneer in her field, she founded the Female
Urology Fellowship and the Neurourology PhD programs
in Iran. Since 2011, she has served as Professor of
Urology at Tabriz University of Medical Sciences, where
she also directs the urology residency and fellowship
programs and she is now the chair of the department.
Dr. Hajebrahimi holds leadership roles nationally and
internationally, including Chair of the Female &
Functional Urology Society of Iran, Scientific Secretary of the Iranian
Continence Society, ICS representative in Iran, and Chair
of the ICS Developing World Committee since 2016. She
is also Director of the Evidence-Based Medicine Center
of Excellence in Iran.
She has received numerous accolades, such as Best
Researcher (2011), Best Research Director (2010), and
Top University Teacher (2016, 2019). She has been
elected as Dean of Tabriz Faculty of Medicine since 2025.
Dr. Hajebrahimi has published over 250 scientific papers,
contributing extensively to research in Female and
Functional Urology and Evidence-Based Medicine.
