Dr. Palaniappan is a Senior Consultant in the Department of Urology at Sengkang General Hospital. He graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) with distinction from St George's, University of London in 2006.
He pursued training in General Surgery, completing his MRCS in 2010. He then undertook specialized training in urology, culminating in the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) in Urology in 2016, where he distinguished himself as the top candidate.
Dr. Palaniappan is very interested in complex stone disease management, which he further honed during his fellowship under Dr Mahesh Desai and Dr Madhu Agrawal, specializing in techniques such as ultrasound punctures, mini percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL), and supine endoscopic combined intrarenal surgery (ECIRS). Since returning to Sengkang General Hospital, he has established a comprehensive stone service and is actively involved in training the next generation of endourologists. He is also keenly interested in metabolic stone disease and enhancing the quality of life for patients with stone disease. He is currently engaged in clinical trials to advance these areas of urological care.
