    Farzana Cassim

    Urology Consultant

    Farzana Cassim is currently practicing at Mediclinic Panorama Hospital in Cape Town, and maintains her affiliation with Tygerberg Hospital and Stellenbosch University after working as a full time Urology Consultant and Senior Lecturer there from 2015 to 2023. She completed her Urology training at Groote Schuur Hospital in 2014, and successfully completed her MMed in Urology in 2015. She went on to spend close to a year operating with Professor Johann Naudé at Eerste River Hospital, gaining experience and insight into the field of Reconstructive Urology. She obtained certification as a subspecialist in Urogynaecology in 2020. Farzana also has a keen interest in Paediatric Urology, working closely with Paediatric Nephrologists in order to improve outcomes for patients with complex urinary anomalies. She is the first woman in South Africa to be robotically trained and performs urogynaecological procedures as well as rasical prostatectomies robotically. Farzana is still involved in Registrar and Urogynaecology Fellowship training as well.
