Dr Sanjay Sinha is Honorary Professor and Senior Consultant in the Department of Urology, Apollo Hospital, Hyderabad. He graduated MBBS in 1987 and subsequently completed his MS Surgery in 1992, both from the Institute of Medical Sciences, Varanasi. He completed his Urology training at SGPGIMS, Lucknow in 1995 under Prof Mahendra Bhandari. He is currently working at Apollo Hospital for the last 14 years and has a special interest in Functional Urology, Neuro-urology and Female Urology.
Dr Sinha is (Founding) National Chair for the Functional and Female Urology Section of the Urological Society of India, USI. He is lead author for the USI Guidelines on ‘Urinary Incontinence in Adults’ and an Editor for the 8th Edition of Incontinence, the textbook from the International Consultation on Incontinence of the ICS. He is Associate Editor of the Indian Journal of Urology, BMC Urology and SIU Journal and is on the Editorial Board for Neurourology Urodynamics, International Urogynecology Journal and Current Bladder Dysfunction Reports.
Dr Sinha has conducted numerous academic programs across the world as well as workshops at several ICS and IUGA Annual Congresses. He has delivered numerous lectures at national and international forums. He has over 100 publications in peer reviewed journals and 9 chapters in textbooks and received the most cited manuscript certificate from Neurourology Urodynamics for 2023. He is a recipient of the Best Student Award of IMS, Bard Scholarship in Urology of USI, Best Paper Award at USICON, Best Abstract Award at ICS Gothenburg 2019, Best Reviewer Award from IJU, eight distinctions at MBBS and the BHU University medal, NCERT National Talent Scholarship and the First All-India rank at the 12th Standard Board Examination. He is currently Chair for the Neuro-urology Promotion Committee of the ICS and is on the Advisory Board of the ICIQ, Bristol, UK.
