Dr. Alejandro Remigio Rodríguez is a urologist with subspecialty in urologic oncology as well as robotics and minimally invasive surgery (MIS). He is Associate Professor, Director of Minimally Invasive Surgery and Program Director - Urology Residency, for the Department of Urology at Atrium Health Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC. He is certified by the American Board of Urology and is the Secretary General of the Confederación Americana de Urología (CAU) (1st term: 2019–2022; 2nd. Term: 2022 - 2025). He is former Treasurer of CAU (2015-2019). Former Urologist Oncologist at Rochester Regional Health (2018-2021). Former Chief of Urology and Urology Oncology – Director of Robotics and MIS at Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown, New York (2012–2018). Dr. Rodríguez worked as Assistant Professor, Director for Robotics and Laparoscopic Surgery at USF Morsani College of Medicine, in Tampa, Florida (2011–2012). He is Editor of the AUA News in Spanish since 2019.
Dr. Rodríguez pursued his fellowship training in Urologic Oncology at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa and in Urologic Oncology and MIS in Rennes, France. He completed Urology training and Chief Residency in the Department of Urology at USF Morsani College of Medicine, in Tampa, Florida. He is active member of multiple societies, such as: AUA, CAU, SIU, EAU, SUO, Endourological Society, Society of Robotic Surgeons, and GURS. He is honorary member of the American Urological Association (AUA), European Association of Urology (EAU), Sociedad Argentina de Urología (SAU), and Sociedad Brasileira de Urología (SBU).
Prior to his career in USA and France, Dr. Rodríguez worked as a Urologist in Lima-Peru, after completing a Urology Residency at the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos in 1998. He obtained his MD degree in 1993 from the Autonomous University of Guadalajara in Mexico. Dr. Rodríguez has published 200 + peer review manuscripts and abstracts.
