    Dr Sani Aminu, FRCSEd, FWACS(Urol), Dip. Urol (Lond), EBU cert, Consultant Urological Surgeon and Director of Uroandrol Services, Ltd,UK, has qualified from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria in 1988. He trained and worked in General surgery and Urology with the West African College of Surgeons at the University of Maiduguri teaching Hospital in Nigeria, 1991 to 1999. He also studied part time masters in health planning & management (MHPM) at University of Maiduguri,1997 to 1999. He then came to the United Kingdom through the Overseas Doctors Training Scheme (ODTS) where he started with surgery in general, urology training, and then worked in middle grade positions before he started taking consultant urological surgeon posts in NHS hospitals of the UK in 2014. He obtained the FRCSEd, FWACS (Urol), postgraduate diploma in urology of the University College London and certificate of the European Board of Urology. He is also visiting consultant urological surgeon to hospitals in Nigeria. Dr Aminu's clinical areas of practice and interest includes general urology (including men's health, pelvic pain & LUTS) and endourological treatment of BPH, stones and urololiathisis. He is interested in innovations like the biofeedback and relaxation to improve anxiety and pain during flexible cystoscopy in men (Aminu's technique), development of Aminu Simplified Prostate Symptom Score (ASPSS), which is awaiting validity studies, modified TRUS biopsy of prostate technique and PSAD of benign prostate diseases and prostate cancer according to Gleason scores. He also described trigonalgia; an overlooked bladder pain. His research interests are in LUTS and stone prevention.
    Dr Aminu advocates on community health insurance, social service reforms and flexible employment scheme for diaspora health workers in Africa. He is a member of think tanks and charity organisations. Dr Aminu is married and blessed with three children. He likes cycling, walking, nature and travelling.
