Professor Asif Muneer is Professor of Urology and Surgical Andrology at UCL. He is also a Consultant Urological Surgeon and Andrologist based at University College London Hospital. He specialises in all areas of andrology penile prosthesis surgery, male infertility and also genital oncology and oncoplastic reconstruction. He also manages priapism and performs corrective surgery for Peyronie’s disease.
Having completed his higher degree (MD) at UCL investigating the physiology of smooth muscle dysfunction he went on to higher surgical training in Oxford and undertook further visiting fellowships to the University of Bern, University of Paris and MD Andersen, Texas. He was also awarded the Keith Yeates Gold Medal for the FRCS(Urol) and the Harold Hopkins Golden Telescope by the British Association of Urological Surgeons.
Professor Muneer has published widely on all aspects of urology and co-edited eight books including Viva Practice for the FRCS(Urol), Textbook of Penile Cancer, Atlas of Male Genitourethral Surgery and Prosthetic Surgery in Urology. He is past president of the British Society for Sexual Medicine and past honorary secretary of the British Association of Urological Surgeons.
