Dr. Ateş Kadıoğlu, MD/FECSM, is a Professor of Urology and Chairman of the Division of Andrology at the Department of Urology, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, Istanbul University. He graduated from Istanbul High School and Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in 1983, completed his residency in 1990, became Associate Professor in 1994, and Professor in 2000.
He served as President of the Turkish Society of Andrology (2002–2009) and the Turkish Association of Urology (2008–2012), and currently holds honorary presidencies in both. He is also Coordinator of the Turkish Academy of Urology and Editor-in-Chief of the Turkish Journal of Urology (Urology Research and Practice). From 2011 to 2014, he served as Vice Dean of Istanbul Faculty of Medicine.
Prof. Kadıoğlu has authored 421 peer-reviewed publications, with 11,289 citations and an h-index of 54 (Google Scholar, July 2025). He is a member of the EAU Sexual and Reproductive Medicine Guideline Committee and has served on multiple international sexual medicine and andrology committees, including the Priapism Committee (2010, 2025) and the Peyronie’s Disease Committee (2015).
He completed educational programs in Sexual Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco (1991), and in Male Infertility at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston (1994). He is a member of ESSM, EAU, AUA, SIU, ISSM, ISWISH, and ASRM, and serves as a reviewer for leading journals in urology and andrology.
Prof. Kadıoğlu has chaired major international congresses, including the 6th EAU South Eastern European Meeting (2010), the ESSM Congress (2014), and the SIU Congress (2023). He has received multiple honors, including the SIU “Distinguished Career Award” (2021) and honorary professorships in Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kosovo, and Azerbaijan.
He is married, has two children, and speaks English and German.
